Project Overview
Reality Labs Research (RLR) brings together a world-class team of researchers developers and engineers to create the future of virtual and augmented reality which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. Just as personal computers have done over the past 45 years AR and VR will ultimately change everything about how we work play and connect. We are developing breakthrough AR and VR technologies including optics and displays computer vision audio graphics brain-computer interfaces haptic interaction eye/hand/face/body tracking perception science and true telepresence. The RLR Audio team in particular is focused on redefining how people hear and connect.
We are seeking a Project Manager for an on-site role to help us advance an ambitious research program to develop technologies that will augment human capabilities and enable effortless communication in acoustically challenging environments (learn more about our work here). This is a full-time contract position that requires a highly motivated individual who can work collaboratively as well as independently. As a Project Manager you will lead scientific research projects from conception to completion collaborating with experts in audio signal processing machine learning and hearing sciences. An ideal candidate would have familiarity with some or all of these areas.
ResponsibilitiesDrive project planning execution and delivery for research and feature progress identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on project status dependencies and risks to proper documentation of progress and completion of tasks and procurement of equipment and vendor operational (non-research) projects and tasks as role requires an onsite presence 5 days per week at the Redmond facilities.
Minimum qualifications3 years of project management experience in research or product interpersonal organizational and communication proactive initiative and excels at managing multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced collaborates across functions building strong partnerships with team members and stakeholders throughout the exceptional organizational and time management skills ensuring priorities are met and deadlines consistently Planning & ExecutionStrong Communication SkillsTask Management & Tracking
Nice to Have SkillsSome Agile ExperienceFamiliarity with Agile methodologies is audio experienceMachine learning experienceComputer vision experienceEnd-to-end software project management experience
EducationBachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent or similar certification.
