Join our Cloud Platforms team as we develop a secure scalable and future-focused cloud database capability across AWS Azure and GCP. You will contribute to a major modernisation journey uplift automation and support teams through a purpose-led transformation. This is a unique chance to shape strategy tooling patterns and platform maturity from inception.
What Youll Do
- Design build and maintain reliable cloud and hybrid database platforms across AWS Azure and GCP ensuring secure and high-performing outcomes.
- Develop automation and infrastructureascode using Terraform CloudFormation PowerShell Python or Ansible to streamline deployment and operational workflows.
- Improve service reliability through performance tuning monitoring alerting and preventative engineering practices.
- Support incident and problem resolution contributing to rootcause analysis documentation and continuous improvement.
- Participate in modernisation initiatives cloud migration activities and lifecycle planning helping define what the nextgeneration database platform will look like.
- Collaborate with cloud platform security and application teams to embed governance compliance security and bestpractice operational controls.
What Youll Bring
- Experience progressing from a DBA background into cloud engineering with strong capability across Oracle and/or SQL Server.
- Deep understanding of cloud database services such as AWS RDS Azure Database or Google Cloud Database and how they support enterprise workloads.
- Proficiency in automation and IaC (Terraform CloudFormation Ansible PowerShell Python) to enhance deployment governance and reliability.
- Strong grasp of cloud security networking and compliance with the ability to embed these into database lifecycle management.
- Experience delivering high availability disaster recovery and backup solutions across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly support crossfunctional collaboration and contribute to capability uplift.
