Description of Work

Responsibilities of the behavior analyst include the following completing behavior assessments including functional behavior assessments preference assessments and evaluations of relative skill strengths and deficits. Developing and overseeing implementation of comprehensive behavior-analytic treatment plans including training in adaptive skills replacement behaviors and decelerative procedures. Creating and monitoring data collection systems to assess for behavior change and to evaluate the results of intervention efforts. Training staff on plan implementation and procedures participating in interdisciplinary team processes including discussing orally and in writing behavior supports proposed strategies for behavior change and data-based results of intervention efforts providing direct services to people served (e.g. specialized adaptive skill training programs reinforcement procedures etc.) as needed. The behavior analyst will be assigned according to agency needs and will serve people with intellectual developmental disabilities who experience severe behavior challenges.

ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • ABA especially in the area of intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities.

  • Knowledge and skills to design and use behavioral assessments to guide intervention efforts.

  • Knowledge skills and abilities to design and implement behavior change strategies to increase adaptive skills and decrease maladaptive behaviors.

  • Knowledge of effective staff training and management strategies and ability to relate appropriately to clients and staff members.

  • Knowledge of behavioral assessment and interventions for people who exhibit severe behavior problems.

  • Licensed in North Carolina under the provisions specified for Behavior Analyst Licensure (SB103 G.S. 90 Article 43 Behavior Analyst Licensure).


Necessary Special Qualifications: Must fulfill all requirements for licensure to practice behavior analysis as a Licensed behavior analyst under the provisions specified for Behavior Analyst Licensure (SB103 G.S. 90 Article 43 Behavior Analyst Licensure). Note. Among other requirements the applicant must have passed the certifying entitys Board-Certified Behavior Analyst examination. Refer to the law for specifics regarding licensure requirements.

This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Scheduled work hours: 8:00 AM 5:00PM Monday Friday. Flexibility is required to meet facility needs.

Minimum Education and Experience
