Job Summary
General Summary
Participates in build design configuration integration maintenance training and test of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
- Participates in rapid prototyping for the design process for drones*
- Make recommendations for modification during the design process based on feedback from previous testing results to meet desired specifications.*
- Performs assembly of mechanical and electrical drones integration and test and buildup of assemblies & subassemblies*
- Uses a variety of machine shop tools and other items including CNC mills 3D printers etc.
- May use CAD tools to assist in designing models for drone assembly*
- Documents processes and build techniques *
- Provides technical support to stakeholders and troubleshoots issues*
- Assists in training and curriculum development
- Participates in testing data collection and analysis*
- Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the process and recommends process improvement*
- Travel for field testing and/or project meetings may be required
