As a Data Engineer you will join Bridgewater team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector.
In this role you will act as the focal point for engineering delivery data ensuring that inputs from engineering managers and stakeholders are validated structured and transformed into reliable reporting outputs. You will support programme oversight by maintaining robust reporting systems engineering dashboards and traceable data processes aligned with governance requirements.
You will work with complex technical datasets resolving inconsistencies and building unified reporting frameworks that enable engineering decision-making and delivery assurance
- Location: Bridgewater (Sommerset) or Bristol
- On Site: 2- 3 days per week
- Clearance: BPSS
- Experience Level: 3-7 YOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly and monthly engineering delivery data updates from programme stakeholders.
- Clean reconcile and validate technical datasets from multiple sources.
- Integrate datasets to create unified engineering reporting views.
- Develop and maintain engineering dashboards and self-service reporting tools (Power BI).
- Monitor delivery performance and highlight engineering risks or constraints.
- Support preparation of engineering performance reports for senior leadership.
- Translate complex data into technical narratives and visual reporting.
- Interface with engineering teams to resolve data quality issues.
- Engage external stakeholders to unblock engineering data dependencies.
- Troubleshoot input data issues to enable repeatable reporting cycles.
- Support change management and configuration monitoring.
- Document engineering reporting processes and maintain data dictionaries.
- Ensure traceability auditability and alignment with engineering governance.
Qualifications :
Required Skills:
Strong analytical engineering mindset.
Comfortable validating complex technical data.
Able to translate data into engineering insight.
Proactive in improving reporting systems and delivery processes.
Strong stakeholder coordination across engineering teams.
Systems thinker with understanding of engineering lifecycle data flows.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Data Engineering Computer Science or equivalent military experience.
- Experience supporting engineering delivery reporting.
- Proficiency in Power BI / SQL / Excel.
- Knowledge of data governance validation and documentation standards.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in engineering programme environments.
- Exposure to configuration control and change management.
- Familiarity with engineering governance frameworks.
- Experience preparing technical leadership reports.
