Head of Intermediary Oversight

The Head of Intermediary Oversight is responsible for leading Shawbrook Banks first line oversight of intermediary relationships across Mortgages Motor Finance Commercial Loans and Personal Loans.

The role ensures that intermediary channels operate within Shawbrooks risk appetite regulatory expectations and conduct standards delivering good customer outcomes while maintaining robust governance and control frameworks. The role holder will provide leadership across risk management monitoring due diligence and ongoing oversight of brokers and other third-party introducers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive intermediary oversight framework aligned to Shawbrooks Risk Management Framework.

• Define risk appetite and control standards for intermediary channels across all relevant product lines.

• Ensure proportionate oversight reflecting product complexity and regulatory risk (e.g. regulated mortgages motor finance consumer credit commercial lending).

• Lead ongoing enhancements to monitoring and oversight practices in line with regulatory change and emerging risks.

• Oversee end-to-end risk management of intermediary relationships including onboarding approval monitoring review and exit.

• Ensure robust due diligence processes are in place covering financial stability regulatory permissions governance and conduct track record.

• Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) MI and customer outcome data to identify emerging trends or conduct risks.

Qualifications :

• Significant experience in financial services risk management ideally within retail and/or commercial lending.

• Strong knowledge of intermediary distribution models across mortgages motor finance commercial loans and/or personal loans.

• Deep understanding of FCA regulatory requirements applicable to broker-led distribution.

• Experience operating within the First Line of Defence balancing commercial objectives with effective risk control.

• Proven ability to design and implement oversight and monitoring frameworks.

• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting MI and customer outcome data.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex risk matters clearly to senior stakeholders.

• Demonstrated leadership capability including team development and performance management.
