Schedule: Full-time variable shifts/hours (810 & 12 hours) weekend & holiday rotation.

Our laboratory plays a crucial role in patient care by providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing and analyses. Were a team of dedicated professionals who are essential partners in detecting diagnosing and monitoring various diseases and conditions.
How youll contribute
A Laboratory Assistantwho excels in this role:
- Performs department specific waived moderately complex testing under the direct supervision of a General Supervisor.
- Performs high complexity testing as training educational and experience requirements are met.
- Applies technical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain procedural quality standards.
- Orders process test issue deliver and discard products under the supervision of a General Supervisor.
- Responsible for the performance of routine computer operations including but not limited to ordering laboratory tests data input and specimen receipt.
- Accurately identifies and labels specimens.
- Performs preventative maintenance equipment maintenance and daily temperature checks according to the sections procedural manual.
- Draws venous arterial capillary samples from patients according to phlebotomy procedures and age specific needs of the patient.
- Works closely with laboratory and supervisory personnel. Frequent communication with nurses physicians and other personnel.
- Follows safety guidelines and procedures. Reports unsafe practices or conditions to section manager.
- Maintains effective and efficient use of reagents chemicals and supplies while assuring adequate inventory inall daily work areas.
- Maintains appropriate commitment to the department schedule in terms of attendance and hours of work. Rotates section shifts and with adequate training rotates between sections as needed.
