Your work will support meaningful engagement with the sculpture park and museum fostering communityconnectionsand inviting visitors to see art andlandscapein new ways.
The Role:
As the Public ProgramsCoordinator your primary role will be to support and implement public programming and events atdeCordovaSculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln largest sculpture park in New Programs atdeCordovarange from concerts tomoonlit walks in the sculpture park tointergenerational sculpture building;all offer the opportunity for visitorsof any ageto deepen their connection to art nature andthe themesexplored in carefully curatedexhibitions. Successful candidates will have a passion for sharing contemporary art and nature with a diverse public audience as well as a deep commitment toprovidinga spectacular experience for all visitorstodeCordova.
Specificallyyoull:
- Coordinateprogramscurrentlyon the calendar includingbutnotlimitedto:special exhibition programmingdeCordovaSummer Performance Series Solstice Evenings Picnic Nights Yoga in the Parkclassesand workshops.
- Collaborate withthe Senior Regional Engagement Manager for the MetroWestand coordinateandcommunicateprogramming planswithdeCordovason-siteteam.
- Planand implementevents and programs including tasks such as setting up event space welcoming participants coordinating teachers and/or performers supervising volunteers and eventbreak-down.
- Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming visitors answering questions and offering directions as needed.
- Assistwith event listingsandactively promoteprograms via social media onlineplatformsand print materials.
- Track ticket sales andregistrationforeventsand communicate with attendeesin advance of events.
- Be familiar with and enforce property rules and regulations.
This is a part-timenonexempt positionworking30hours per weekreporting directly tothe Senior Regional Engagement Manager.
RequirementsWhatYoullNeed:
Skills and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in the arts non-profits event planningeducationalprogrammingand/or customer servicewithmuseum experience preferred.
- Bachelors degreerequiredadvanceddegree preferred.
- Enthusiasm and understanding for the mission ofThe Trustees anddeCordovaSculpture Park and Museum.
- Curiosity about contemporary ways thatelevateart andthenatural world.
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to remain confident and calm when confronted bychallengingvisitors and when handling emergencies.
- Strongwritten and verbal skills including public speaking.
- Ability to juggle and prioritize projectswhile meeting deadlines.
- Extremely reliable and able to work independently as well as the ability to work within a close-knit team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learnnew technologysystems including acme ticketing.
- Availabilitytoworkweekends evenings and occasional holidays.
