Position Summary:
Level Two: Building upon level one level two facility personnel working without supervision are able to complete any task given related to facility maintenance demonstrating expertise in plumbing and general carpentry and numerous tasks involved in facility related addition they will provide support and leadership to level one. Also a strong mechanical aptitude is required. Typically 5-10 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager
- Basic knowledge of all plant safety requirements. Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Correctly interpret work orders.
- Work in a team environment i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
- Performs intermediate plumbing and general facilities tasks such as plumbing groundskeeping painting etc.
- Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting repair and preventive maintenance of all plant machinery equipment and facilities to include CNC milling & turning equipment HT furnaces hydraulics pumps blowers etc.
- Maintain tools equipment machinery and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Must be familiar with all types of power and hand tools and must be able to use torque wrenches and other calibration and measurement devices.
- Locates and orders repair parts and spare parts.
- Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Required Skills:
- Intermediate ability to perform basic shop math fractions decimal.
- Intermediate ability to use basic hand tools wrenches etc.
- Intermediate ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills
- Intermediate ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions
- Ability to operate forklift man lift overhead crane boom lift
- Ability to work on elevated surfaces and heights
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to properly inspect equipment and tools prior to use
- Ability to wear respirator
Experience & Education
- 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree required
- GED or High School diploma required
Working Conditions:
- Constant exposure to indoor / outdoor manufacturing environment
- Constant exposure to moderate noise
- Working conditions may include small spaces dust fumes odors hot / cold temperatures inside / outside noise vibration standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to work any shift including overtime weekends and holidays if scheduled.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Must be able to stand walk bend squat climb kneel twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
- Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping pushing and pulling of materials.
- Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane boom lift and manlift.
- Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
- Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
