Were seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in MSSN National Margin team group to be responsible for Monitoring the daily activities of cash and margin accounts to ensure compliance with the regulations of the Federal Reserve Board (Regulation-T) FINRA and Morgan Stanleys own internal credit policies.
In the Operations division we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is an Associate level position level position within Product Support & Services which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What youll do in the role:
Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts leveraging knowledge of the systems markets and instruments that influence the team
Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements
Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders sharing knowledge to contribute to team output
Participate in projects and initiatives aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution
Analyze accounts with credit and risk issues associated with risky trading strategies.
Issue maintenance calls on accounts that fall below minimum margin requirements.
File extensions with FINRA on open trades.
Review and approve client requests for payments transfer of assets within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and transfer of assets to other financial organizations.
Support the MSSN national margin service phone line taking inbound calls from branch personnel related to but not limited to cash available buying power option calculations margin day trading trade through violations and disbursement approvals.
Review and maintain the accuracy of customer margin account records of securities purchased creating REG-T House and FINRA calls.
Interact with the branch management regarding the remediation of margin accounts requiring action due to market downturn exposures that create House and FINRA calls & deficit equity.
Ensure that all customer accounts with outstanding regulatory exceptions are brought into compliance regarding retention house requirements FINRA 4210 and Regulation-T.
Conduct daily account surveillance activities and enforces sellouts and buy-ins with the Branch offices.
Work on ad-hoc projects within the department.
Prepare and present Margin presentations and reports to management as well as the Field.
What youll bring to the role:
Ability to establish clear goals and priorities and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision
Subject matter expertise in business area supported client requirements and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests
Bachelors Degree required
Knowledge of Regulation T and FINRA rules.
Knowledge of Equities Fixed Income Products and Options.
High level of customer service.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to use appropriate analysis judgment and logic when solving problems & making decisions.
Excellent teamwork communication and presentation skill.
Desire to work in a fast-paced Team Oriented environment.
Ability to listen and communicate effectively with others both verbally and written.

Salary range for the position: $51000 and $83000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
