Job Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Housing First Officer on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 23.43 - 30.89 per hour
Summary:
The Housing First Officer role involves peripatetic working across the borough including office locations private homes and other community settings. The successful candidate will hold a caseload and work as part of a small dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a caseload of clients experiencing multiple exclusion homelessness
- Build strong trusting relationships using trauma-informed and psychologically-informed approaches
- Support tenancy sustainment and promote long-term housing stability
- Conduct risk assessments and manage safeguarding concerns in line with adult safeguarding procedures
- Maintain clear professional boundaries when working in inter-agency environments
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including welfare benefits substance misuse services mental health services and other support providers
Essentials:
- Proven experience within the homelessness/rough sleeping sector
- Experience working within a Housing First or similar service model
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and psychologically-informed practice
- Knowledge of adult safeguarding procedures
- Experience in tenancy sustainment and risk assessment
