Job Summary
A Church of England secondary school in Nottingham is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Welfare Officer to join its pastoral team immediately. This is a crucial role for anyone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students supporting their emotional social and academic wellbeing.
In this role you will be at the heart of student care working closely with the pastoral team teachers and families. You will provide guidance and support to students who are facing challenges liaise with external agencies where necessary and contribute to school-wide safeguarding practices. The role requires empathy discretion and strong communication skills as well as the ability to stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
Your daily work will include:
Meeting with students individually or in small groups to provide pastoral support
Monitoring student attendance and engagement highlighting early intervention needs
Advising staff on welfare and behavioural concerns
Coordinating wellbeing programs and school initiatives
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safeguarding documentation
