Oracle Database Engineer

What to expect

In this role you will:

• Assist in analyzing technical and functional requirementsand help translate them into software solutions. Youll learn to understand dependencies with other systems and teams.
• Support the design development and integration of third-party components including participating in system testing and installations.
• Help develop automation scriptsto assist with installations configuration tuning and maintenance of database management systems.
• Provide technical assistance to colleaguesand help resolve problems reported by team members.
• Contribute to the preparation of user documentation installation guides and operating procedures.
• Participate in supporting delivered softwareand be part of a collaborative problem-solving team. Youll analyze support cases and when appropriate assist in providing solutions following established case management processes.
• Have opportunities to develop your skillsand grow in a true DevOps agile environment.

What Will Make You Successful

We are seeking candidates with:

• 1-5 years of experiencein Oracle databases or a related technical area.
• ABachelors degree in computer scienceor a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience or familiarity with the following:
  • Basic knowledge ofOracle Database Enterprise Edition 12c or 19c with an understanding of multi-tenancy and partitioning concepts.
  • Awareness ofDataGuardfor Disaster Recovery (DR) andRAC(Real Application Clusters) for local resiliency.
  • Introduction toGoldenGatefor logical data replication.
• Basic scripting skillsin languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
• A foundational understanding ofIT security particularly in the DBA area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Oracle Database 12c/19c Administrator Certified Associate (OCA)is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge ofOracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption and Database Vault concepts.
• Familiarity withTLS/SSLand configuration of Oracle Wallet.
• Experience withRHEL operating systemis a plus.
• Exposure toConfluence/Jira toolsor equivalent project management tools.
• Good understanding ofAnsiblefor installation and configuration automation is a plus.
• Familiarity withJenkins/CloudBeesfor release management through CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
