A well-established and growing real estate development and property management organization in Southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a Property Accountant to join its accounting team.

The company manages a diverse portfolio of retail commercial residential and hospitality properties and offers a stable team-oriented environment with strong long-term growth potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in full-cycle property accounting across a dynamic portfolio while advancing their career in real estate finance.

Key Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting for approximately 10 mixed-use retail and office properties
Perform month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review financial statements
Ensure timely and accurate payment of mortgages property taxes insurance and utilities
Prepare CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and billings
Process water billings and percentage rent calculations
Support additional accounting initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
13 years of accounting experience required (property accounting experience preferred)
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger fundamentals (accruals prepaids reconciliations)
Experience with M3 Sage or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
