Job Summary:
The Environmental Intern will support a variety of environmental and sustainability-related activities across compliance audits system updates and continuous improvement efforts. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental assessments process improvements corrective actions and supporting documentation updates.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with environmental inspections audits and compliance assessments.
- Collect analyze and maintain environmental data and reports.
- Support rebranding and organization of controlled environmental documents.
- Conduct hazardous chemical inventory analysis for regulatory reporting (e.g. SARA Title III Tier II).
- Aid in updates to Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans and environmental compliance procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibility
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail especially in document management environmental audits and system updates.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and environmental compliance regulations (e.g. SARA Title III SPCC).
- Analytical skills for identifying process gaps tracking waste and supporting corrective actions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across teams and support improvement initiatives.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new regulatory compliance standards customer requirements and environmental documentation practices.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED
Background Prerequisites:
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check employment verification reference checks physical and controlled substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clear and effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience with researching topics
- Previous employment with a focus on team-work
