A bit about the role
As a Senior User Researcher youll be involved in all stages of player testing new features and experience improvements across our web app and digital retail channels. Working collaboratively as part of a passionate team youll put our players at the heart of everything we do to ensure we create amazing player experiences that are bulletproof based on player insights.
What youll be doing
- Proactively seek objectives or sign off on UR generated objectives: Work closely with design lead designers and product owners to collect research objectives for the purposes of delivery research.
- Define approach: Based off the objectives shared plan design and facilitate a range of user research activities including user interviews usability testing (remote only for now) workshops diary studies guerrilla research to a high standard and ensuring ethical practices.
- Own recruitment: Define the sample of who you need to engage with. Consider inclusivity and accessibility via demographics and lived experience play behaviour etc.
- Analyse and synthesise research findings: Translate the data gathered into clear actionable insights and recommendations and/or how might we provocations that inform design decisions and product strategy.
- Communicate research findings effectively: Present research findings in a clear and compelling way to stakeholders at all levels using a variety of formats (e.g. presentations reports workshops).
- Uphold GDPR and ethics best practice: Ensure the end-to-end research process upholds requirements regarding GDPR and ethical engagement with participants.
- Maintain the existing insights repository: Ensure all insight write ups generated for and by the design team is maintained and searchable within the insight repository.
- Maintain the existing raw data repository: After each round of interviews thematically tag each transcript to build out repository of data.
- Upskill those newer to the craft: Upskill design support in how to conduct valid valuable actionable insight via the end-to-end research process.
- Develop and champion a deep understanding of our users: Create and maintain user personas journey maps and other research artefacts to communicate user needs and behaviours to the wider team.
- Identify knowledge gaps: Raise knowledge gaps with stakeholders and define an approach to solving. This may be related to discovery research objectives or accessibility and inclusion stress testing of designs/build.
- Keep iterating: Continuously learn and evolve your research skills and experiment with ways of working to continually improve how insight is generated.
What experience were looking for
- Identify ways to improve processes and help make them happen.
- Proven hands-on experience as a Senior User Researcher in an enterprise business.
- Demonstrated ability to run remote qualitative studies as well as using unmoderated platforms such as dscout or similar and the additional methodologies these platforms provide.
- Demonstrated ability to help shape the product design direction via applied research methodologies.
