Job Summary

Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Cardiothoracic Surgery in Lansing MI

Sparrow Lansing Main Hospitalis seeking a dedicated Physician to join their Cardiothoracic surgery team. This hospital-based practice offers a supportive environment with a trauma level of I and modern facilities including 2 dedicated CV surgery ORs. Covering nights and weekends the selected candidate will provide high-quality care to an adult patient population.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide night call and weekend coverage preferred schedule from Friday evening to Monday morning.
Perform adult cardiac and general thoracic surgeries including CABG heart valve repair/replacement and other complex procedures.
Ensure comprehensive patient care during surgical procedures and assess patient needs post-operation.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the Epic EMR system.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary medical team.
Participate in additional call coverage as required approximately once a month.

Qualifications:

Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Active Michigan medical license (or willingness to obtain).
BLS ACLS and PALS certification.
Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
Clean malpractice and license history is highly preferred.
Ability to provide a copy of NPDB self-query pulled within the last 30 days.

License and Certification Requirements:

Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery - REQUIRED
Active Michigan license - REQUIRED (or willingness to obtain).
BLS ACLS and PALS certification - REQUIRED
