The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Epic Senior Analyst HIM to work remotely.
The Epic Senior Analyst initiates the implementation builds and modifies complex applications and collaborates with key stakeholders end-users and application team members to optimize the applications configuration function and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues.
Core Responsibilities:
Collaborateswith key stakeholders end-users and application team members to optimize the applications configuration function and access.
Servesas a primary support contact for applicationendusers.
Initiates the design development implementation and maintenance of the application.
Initiates all phases of testing andthe documentationof workflow design.
Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes andvalidatesthe impactstothe workflow.
Initiates the identification of issues andguidesthe work to resolve them.
Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets identification and implementation of application changes retrieval of requested data and execution of day-to-day operations.
Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
Works with stakeholdersthebusiness community and end users to ensure the application meetsUHealthsbusiness/clinical needs.
Participatesin on-call rotations and support andattendandparticipatesinapplicable committees.
Maintains regular communication with team members including participating in weekly project team meetings.
Reviewsthe status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
Remains knowledgeable aboutUHealthspolicies procedures and business operations.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
The Epic Analyst 3 - HIM overseas and leads the Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team and will report to the Senior Manager and will be responsible for:
Initiates the implementation builds and modifies of the HIM applications
Providing oversight and leadership to Associate Epic Analysts and Epic Analysts on the team
As an Epic Analyst 3 HIM your contributions will focus on the following:
Serves as a primary support contact for application endusers.
Initiates the design development implementation and maintenance of the application.
Initiates all phases of testing and the documentation of workflow design.
Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validates the impacts to the workflow.
Initiates the identification of issues and guides the work to resolve them.
Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets identification and implementation of application changes retrieval of requested data and execution of day-to-day operations.
Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
Works with stakeholders the business community and end users to ensure the application meets UHealths business/clinical needs.
Participate in on-call rotations and support and attend and participate in applicable committees.
Travel to the job site during go-lives conferences rounding and/or senior leadership meetings.
Maintains regular communication with team members including participating in weekly project team meetings.
Review. the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
Remains knowledgeable about UHealths policies procedures and business operations.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelorsdegree inrelevant field
Epic certificate in Hospital Coding Administration Deficiency Tracking Administration Release of Information Administration Identity are required.
3-5 years of experience preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization
Ability to work evenings nights andweekendsas necessary.
Previous operational project management and organizational skills
Ability to work evenings nights and weekends as necessary.
Familiarity with processes that fall under HIM: Chart Tracking Release of Information Deficiency Tracking and Coding preferred
Familiarity with transcription and scanning workflows and vendors and confidentiality and privacy guidelines preferred
Detailed knowledge of Master Patient Index (MPI) interfaces and other sources of patient information preferred
Understanding of duplicate patient management processes preferred
Microsoft Office Suite: Word PowerPoint Project Visio Excel
Problem Solving: Seeking logically examining and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problems cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence
Dependability: Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate efficient and timely manner
