We are seeking a reliable proactive and solutions-focused Caretaker to support the day-to-day running of our successful and well-resourced school in Chelmsford. Working alongside dedicated staff and motivated students you will play a key role in ensuring our buildings and grounds remain safe secure and maintained to a high standard.

The Role
You will be responsible for the maintenance security and presentation of the school site helping ensure that facilities are always ready for learning sport events and community use. Your work will support the smooth operation of the school and the wellbeing of everyone on site.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure the security of the site including locking/unlocking alarm procedures and key holding.
Carry out day-to-day maintenance minor repairs and general upkeep of buildings and grounds.
Prepare classrooms halls and specialist spaces for lessons meetings and events.
Undertake regular health & safety inspections and maintain statutory compliance.
Liaise with contractors and oversee works carried out on the premises.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience in caretaking estates or facilities support.
Has practical skills and can undertake a range of minor repairs.
Is organised hardworking and able to use initiative.
Works well both independently and as part of a team.
Can adapt to the needs of a busy school environment.
Is committed to safeguarding and maintaining high standards.
