The Role

This position is designed to support a New Entrant to the profession as they transition from trainee to expert practitioner.

• ECT Induction Excellence: Benefit from a structured two-year induction programme with a dedicated Subject Mentor and regular professional development sessions.

• Fieldwork Leadership: Assist in and eventually lead local fieldwork trips taking advantage of Redbridges unique position between urban London and rural Essex.

• Curriculum Innovation: Teach a range of topics including climate change urbanisation and natural hazards with a reduced timetable to allow for high-quality planning.

• GIS Training: Gain hands-on experience using ArcGIS and other digital mapping tools to enhance your teaching.

The Candidate

• Teacher Training: Currently on track to achieve QTS in Secondary Geography by September 2026.

• Subject Passion: A genuine love for the subject and the ability to inspire students to think like global citizens.

• Analytical Skills: Comfortable teaching both the physical science of geography and the human sociology of the subject.

• Collaborative Spirit: A team player who is excited to share ideas and resources within a friendly Humanities faculty.
