Packaging Specialist- Fleet Coordinator
Lead and coordinate the returnable packaging fleet for automotive components automation cells and service/aftermarket parts. This role ensures program management cost efficiency and alignment with internal and customer standards while coordinating with packaging engineers customers and manufacturing plants.
Project manage build & delivery: charter timeline budget; track supplier/tooling readiness and shipping to suppliers/plants; escalate risks early.
Track deliveries to suppliers/plants and perform risk management
Coordinate maintenance controls and vendors; manage fleet size strategies for packaging assets.
Coordinate integrator/3PL for kitting and site delivery.
Plan and execute container availability for new launch and serial production
Design loop strategy and rightsize the pool by lane (model cycle times turns seasonality surge).
Maintain container master/PFEP (IDs specs owners lanes MOQ leadtimes); control changes and revisions.
Drive supplier RFQs negotiations and submissions; manage PPAP deliverables and approvals.
Run daily/weekly control: balance supply/demand expedite returns trigger temporary expendables when needed prevent lineside stockouts.
Manage repair/refurb/cleaning programs; define acceptance criteria; analyze failure modes; approve scrap vs. repair.
Lead supplier/3PL compliance: onboarding/training scan discipline discrepancy resolution chargeback/claim processes.
Manage budget for builds redeployments repairs and losses; create ROIs for conversions and location adds; support sourcing/negotiations.
Run daily/weekly control: balance supply/demand expedite returns trigger temporary expendables when needed prevent lineside stockouts.
Manage physical counts and audits; reconcile to system inventory; close gaps via containment and corrective actions.
Plan launches/ECNs: phasein/out plans readiness at suppliers/plants ramptorate container availability.
Bridge design cost and customer validation ensuring alignment with budget targets
Manage customer reimbursement activity for out-of-scope packaging usage
Bachelors Degree in Business Finance Supply Chain Management or equivalent
3-6 years of related experience
Works with minimal supervision.
Drives projects to schedule/budget.
Clear communicator with suppliers plants logistics and design; structured problem solving
Travel readiness (520%); Spanish/English bilingual a plus for US/MX lanes
