Data Center Technician Proximity Services
Shift: MondayFriday 3:00 PM 11:00 PM (CST)
Location: Hartland WI
Overtime: 38 hours per month (as needed)
On-Call: Rotational including national holidays
Transportation: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required
Position Overview
This role supports Data Center Operations within Proximity Services delivering high-quality technical support for infrastructure and processes managed inside the data center. The Data Center Technician provides hands-on IT hardware and cabling support in a 24/7 environment ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Rack and stack servers network devices switches routers and related equipment
Install rack mount kits (HP Dell Cisco) shelves rails and cable management systems
Perform de-racking re-racking and structured cabling installations
Identify and troubleshoot hardware and cabling issues
Replace customer-replaceable components (HDDs power supplies cache batteries etc.)
Trace test and label cabling
Maintain data center standards for cleanliness security and asset tracking
Work within ServiceNow (or similar ticketing systems) to manage requests
Collaborate with global teams third-party engineers and contractors
Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on computer hardware and cabling experience in a data center environment
Knowledge of structured cabling and rack installations
Experience with hardware maintenance and part replacement
Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms
Proficiency in Outlook Word and Excel
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
Customer-focused dependable and able to work independently
Willingness to support on-call rotation and occasional additional hours
Preferred Qualifications
Valid U.S. drivers license
Ability to travel between two sites within 20 miles (as needed)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently
Comfortable working from ladders or kneeling for extended periods
Ability to read and follow printed cabling diagrams and instructions
