About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Automation & Embedded Systems Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen a growing technical team working at the intersection of industrial automation embedded systems and data acquisition.
In this role you will take ownership of critical measurement and automation systems ensuring reliable data flow from sensors and devices into centralized data platforms.

You will work closely with colleagues from OT IT development and process engineering contributing hands-on technical expertise while continuously improving system stability performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable raw data acquisition from sensors and devices and transfer into the central database
• Operate maintain and further develop a stable measurement infrastructure with high data integrity availability and continuity
• Design develop and integrate hardware-near software solutions (embedded systems)
• Implement maintain and modernize SPS/PLC automation systems (e.g. Siemens S6 or comparable)
• Integrate existing measurement systems into centralized data and data acquisition architectures
• Analyze system behavior perform troubleshooting and drive continuous improvement
• Act as a technical bridge between OT IT software development and process engineering
• Prepare weekly status reports and ad-hoc reports covering system stability data quality incidents and changes

Your Profile

• Completed degree in Mechatronics Automation Engineering Technical Computer Science or a comparable technical field
• 3 5 years of professional experience in embedded systems automation or industrial software development
• Strong knowledge of C/C for hardware-near programming
• Very good knowledge of Python and good knowledge of JavaScript
• Solid understanding of structured software development testing and documentation
• Experience with microcontrollers and embedded platforms (e.g. ATMEGA) and electronics
• German language skills at minimum B2 level and good English proficiency
