Location: Filton UK

Job Description :

Client has a long and proud aeronautical history and is one of the client location sites responsible for the design testing and manufacture of wings for a range of client commercial and military aircraft.

Guidant Global is working in partnership with client to recruit Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join the Build Production team at the client site.
-
The role involves hands-on assembly and fitting work on client aircraft structures including A400M in a high-quality safety-critical manufacturing environment.

Skilled Aircraft Fitter - Job S Vacancy Briefing Form - Skilled
Key Responsibilities:
- Work from engineering instructions and interpret aircraft drawings
- Complete fitting and assembly tasks to required quality and safety standards
- Use hand tools and power tools for drilling shimming and sealing
- Achieve 1st party certification following completion of required training courses
- Carry out work in confined spaces including tank work with restricted wing access via oval manholes
- Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety compliance at all times
Essential Skills & Experience
- Completed a full engineering apprenticeship (time-served or work-based)
Qualifications must include:
- NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in an engineering discipline or equivalent
Examples include:
- Aircraft Maintenance Technician
- Sheet Metal Worker
- Toolmaker
- Fitter / Turner
- Proven experience using hand tools in a fitter or assembly operator role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and self-motivation
- Open to continuous improvement and new ways of working
Comfortable working:
- At heights
- Within confined spaces
Security & Compliance
- BPSS clearance required (completed by client Security)
- IR35: Off-payroll working rules apply
- ITAR restrictions apply
- Candidates must pass:
- BPSS clearance
- Pre-employment medical
