About the Role:
Following the upcoming retirement of a senior team member and in line with the firms expansion strategy the practice is seeking a Senior Immigration Lawyer / Senior Associate to join its leadership group.
This is a genuinely senior role designed for an experienced immigration lawyer who is confident operating independently managing complex matters end-to-end and contributing beyond fee-earning alone.
You will play a key role in shaping the future of the practice - advising on high-level matters supporting and leading junior staff contributing to business development initiatives and helping refine systems and processes. For the right individual this role offers long-term career progression including a defined pathway toward non-equity and equity Directorship.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Provide expert strategic legal advice across all areas of Australian migration law and practice
- Independently manage and execute complex visa applications and related legal assistance matters
- Take a senior leadership role in supervising junior legal migration and administrative staff
- Provide mentoring guidance and technical oversight to maintain high professional standards
- Contribute to business growth through client development niche market focus and process improvement
- Maintain up-to-date migration law expertise and ensure compliance with all ethical legal and regulatory requirements
- Deliver consistently high standards of client service and professional conduct
What Were Looking For:
- Extensive experience and deep technical knowledge in Australian immigration and migration law
- A high level of self-sufficiency - this role is not suitable for someone requiring close supervision or ongoing mentoring
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent communication skills with confidence in client-facing and advisory environments
- Ability to lead influence and support team members at different levels
- Multilingual capability is advantageous but not essential
