| Job Description: The Aircraft Stress Engineer will perform structural analyses on aircraft primary and secondary structures using a mix of classical methods and finite-element modeling considering all relevant failure modes to meet aircraft airworthiness requirements. Tasking includes design support and structural liaison. Seeking a Subject Matter Expert with comprehensive knowledge of Aircraft Structures focused on Static Stress and in-depth knowledge of Stress Analysis methodology. Essential Functions: - Predict internal stresses and structural instabilities in aircraft structure.
- Generate free-body diagrams of structural load paths.
- Determine reaction forces calculate internal loads and develop shear and moment diagrams.
- Document and report analysis results.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Design team to help develop structural load path concepts and to size structural dimensions and features.
- Review and approve structural engineering drawings as part of the release process.
- Mentor less experienced stress analysts.
- Automate repetitive analytical tasks.
- Work in an collaborative team environment as a member of the larger Flight Sciences Group and across all disciplines within an integrated project team.
- Thorough understanding of industry-standard classical hand analysis methods.
- Ability to work overtime as required to meet business objectives.

| Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree (BSME BSAE BSCE) and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree (MSME MSAE) and a minimum of 7 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Finite-Element Modeling (FEM).
- Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills: - Experience with MSC PATRAN/NASTRAN or FEMAP is preferred.
- Experience analyzing composite structures.
- Experience in Matlab or Mathcad.
- Experience with FAA and/or Military Airworthiness requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and have general computer knowledge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
