Client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic business initiatives within the financial services and wealth management domain. This role focuses on driving projects from ideation through implementation coordinating multiple workstreams and ensuring successful delivery across distributed teams. While technology and digital components are part of the work this is not a purely technical project management role. The ideal candidate brings strong business project leadership experience particularly in mergers and acquisitions and large-scale financial services initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from ideation through implementation including post-implementation review
- Manage projects across all phases of the Agile lifecycle: initiation requirements design development testing and implementation
- Coordinate multiple concurrent workstreams track action items and drive next steps to keep projects moving forward
- Define and manage project scope resource needs timelines budgets milestones and deliverables
- Identify risks maintain RAID logs and develop contingency plans to address issues affecting scope schedule budget or outcomes
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and ensure clear ownership of action items
- Partner with stakeholders and program leadership to define requirements provide status updates and support decision-making
- Prepare and deliver clear status reports management presentations and executive-level updates
- Promote collaboration and effective communication across cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Proven experience leading large strategic business initiatives in the financial services sector
- Experience managing multiple projects consecutively with successful implementations
- Background in mergers and acquisitions and wealth management environments
- Experience presenting project status risks and outcomes to executive leadership
- Seasoned project management professional (recent graduates will not be considered)
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong project planning and organizational skills
- Ability to manage risks dependencies and competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clear confident presenter for executive and stakeholder audiences
- Proactive detail-oriented and action-focused approach
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
- Effective collaboration across teams operating in multiple time zones
