Title: Funeral Attendant
Location: Brownsville TX 78521
Job Type: 5 months contract
Shift: 20-30 hours a week. Schedule can vary so must be open
Pay Rate: $10.00 hourly on W2
Job Description
- Prepare and set up chapels visitation rooms and graveside sites for services including chairs floral arrangements and memorial materials.
- Greet and assist families guests and clergy during visitations services and ceremonies.
- Escort families and pallbearers providing direction and support throughout the service.
- Drive company vehicles (such as hearses or family cars) when needed.
- Assist with placing and removing caskets urns or floral tributes respectfully and safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of facilities vehicles and equipment before and after services.
- Ensure all supplies and materials are available for upcoming services.
- Provide general administrative or logistical support to the funeral director and staff.
- Uphold the highest standards of compassion professionalism and customer service in every interaction.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record (if driving duties are required).
- Professional appearance and demeanor; ability to maintain a calm and respectful presence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand walk and lift moderate weight for extended periods.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred; funeral service experience a plus.
