Job Summary
Essex North Shore seeks a Facilities Compliance Safety Officer to join the Facilities Farm and Grounds team. The Facilities Compliance Safety Officer will work under the direction of the Director of Facilities Farm and Grounds.
The Facilities Compliance Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant working and learning environment across all vocational programs science laboratories farm locations and campus facilities on a 166-acre property. This role involves overseeing safety policies implementing OSHA standards managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations. The position requires proactive safety inspections staff training emergency planning hazard communications and risk mitigation strategies to promote a safety culture for students staff and visitors.
This is a twelve (12) month salaried 260 dayposition.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Health Industrial Hygiene or a related field preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction Certification required.
- 5 years of experience in environmental health & safety preferably in an educational or vocational setting.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts DLS NFPA fire codes and EPA regulations is highly desirable.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Satisfactory CORI SORI and SAFIS required.
