The team

Real Estate Finance Business Banking NL (REF BB NL) is a leading financing platform in the Dutch real estate market. We are evolving to serve a wider range of clients through a flexible multi-channel approach that aligns with Business Bankings service models. We are looking to hire a Transaction Manager within the REF Center of Expertise team (CoE; >12 FTE). The REF CoE team is part of the REF BB NL organization and is responsible for a.o. Marketing & Communication Business Management Proposition Development Sustainability Balance Sheet Distribution and Transaction Management.

Role

As Transaction Manager you will work on transactions within the REF Guided Proposition (Guided); the BB service model used for non-complex transactions- and typically SME clients. There is strategic focus and commitment on REF Guided as it is the ambition to increase the number of clients and transactions in the REF BBNL lending book. Within the REF Guided set-up the CoE team is responsible for proposition development transaction management and channel management. CoE ensures that Business Banking NL Sales channels have a good journey when executing REF transactions.

In your role you will collaborate with CoE members BB Sales staff and other channels and stakeholders on deal structuring and deal closing as well as support- and develop sales staff expertise with training on the job and education efforts.

Stakeholders

You will work in a dynamic environment within REF BB NL with predominantly Dutch clients and a broad range of stakeholders:

  • ING Business Banking NL: Business Advisors with Real Estate expertise (part of the rayon teams) REF Super Circle (incl. Welcome and ILM teams) REF Delivery (incl. customer journey teams and Tech;
  • Wider ING NL organization: a.o. Remote Advice Teams Business Lending Risk teams Legal and WB Balance Sheet Distribution; and
  • External: a.o. Clients intermediaries partners consultants family offices banks.

Your key responsibilities

As a Transaction Manager within the CoE you have a.o. the following responsibilities:

  • Deal execution support AZRE in deal structuring risk approval processes and closing deals;
  • Client support structure client visits to strengthen relationships and create opportunities;
  • Sales development maintain and build relationships with intermediaries to drive up sales;
  • Market sounding (voice of the customer) - continuously identify customer and channel needs and spark CoE response so propositions and services remain relevant;
  • Mentor and educate Business Advisors on real estate finance expertise process proposition market etc;
  • Proposition development - support proposition development for the Guided service model;
  • Business development - assist on design and development of Fast-Track lending; and
  • Approving credit proposals (front office mandate for Fast-Track lending).

How to succeed

We are looking for a colleague with the talent to bring this relatively new team forward. With your enthusiasm ideas and involvement you can make a an ideal candidate we seek:

  • Entrepreneurial and energetic mind-set;
  • Experience in Business Banking and/or Private Banking (preferably account/relationship management or lending teams);
  • Possess Real Estate market knowledge and an understanding of market liquidity;
  • Affinity with Real Estate and Real Estate investors;
  • Experience in writing credit proposals and proven experience with financial analyses;
  • You are a team player; and
  • You are a curious and ambitious person driven to learn quickly.

With a proven track record and technical skills:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Real Estate Business or Finance related studies;
  • >5 Years experience in banking;
  • Communication/presentation skills;
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills; and
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.
