In a collaborative manner theParamedicprovides support to the Medical Providers Radiologic Technologist and patients through a variety of tasks including but not limited to patient care managementorganizationand communication. Responsibilities include front desk registration patient vital sign collection social and medical history collection point of care testing medication administration and providerassistancewithin office procedures.

Job Requirements

:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Passed the Paramedic licensure examination

• Completion of an accredited Paramedic training program

• Certification as a Paramedic (NREMT or state equivalent)

• Valid drivers license and clean driving record

• Experience in emergency medical services

• Basic Life Support (BLS)prior to start

Preferred:

• Associates degree

• Experience in hospital or clinical settings

• Bilingualproficiency

IV placementproficiencyis needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Telephone video and in-person screening limited to intake and gathering of information

• Obtain and record vital signs

• Obtaining and recording patient history

• Assistpatients in ambulation and transfers

• Screen and follow-up on tests as directed by a healthcare provider

• Relay of test results that do not require clinical judgement or decision making

• Create andmaintaina welcoming environment for patients by providing exceptional customer service

• Verify insurance information and collect and process co-payments and deductibles.

• Schedule patient appointments for assigned center and/or coordinate provider referrals to assignedspecialist.

• Secure patient information andmaintainpatient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; complete diagnostic coding and procedure coding andmaintainpatient information confidentiality.

• Conduct interviews to verify patientinformation;record medical history and confirm purpose of visit.

• Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical test vital signs and reporting patient history summary.

• Assistprovider with patient evaluationand inoffice procedures.

• Notify providers of abnormal patient findings.

• Perform in office point of care testing including various medical conditions. Perform phlebotomy dressing wounds/injuries and EKGs.

• Perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshoot breakdownsmaintainsupplies perform preventive maintenance and call for repairs as needed.

• Perform BLS emergency care procedures and manage environmental emergencies

• Medicationadministration perprotocols approved by the local Medical Director.

• Prepare set-upfor various clinical procedures including suturing incision and drainage foreign body removal etc.

• Conduct intravenous catheter insertion IV fluid administration splintingvenipunctureand other related clinical procedures as needed.

• Performing courtesycall backsto follow up on patients.
