Responsibilities
As a Senior Aerospace Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Be the engineering lead in support of flight control system development; aircraft modeling and simulation; analysis of aircraft flight dynamics; and ground and flight test support.
- Design development integration and test of aircraft flight control systems and autopilots
- Develop integrate and validate models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems such as payloads engines transmissions flight control components and sensors
- Support lab ground and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics sensors and flight control systems
- Mentor more junior engineers

Qualifications
- Active or the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance after hiring (requires US Citizenship)
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering
- At least 7 years of experience to include development and/or refinement of flight dynamics models; work with flight test data to include flight test support and flight data analysis and/or familiarity with aircraft performance aerodynamic design non-linear system identification and flight control system design and analysis.
- Excellent documentation and report writing skills are essential for this position.
- Knowledge of sound engineering practices that may include such areas as requirement tracking configuration control technical communication and/or the peer review process.
