Project HSE Manager
Location: London (single major project site)

About the role
A leading construction contractor is appointing a Project HSE Manager to take ownership of health safety and environmental delivery on a flagship construction project in London.
This is a hands-on site-based role with clear accountability for HSE performance from mobilisation through to completion. You will work closely with the Project Director construction management team and supply chain to ensure safe systems of work are embedded monitored and continuously improved throughout the project lifecycle.
The role suits a confident visible HSE professional who thrives in a live site environment and is comfortable balancing operational delivery with strong governance and assurance.
Key responsibilities
Act as the dedicated HSE lead for the project supporting site leadership clients and subcontractors
Develop implement and maintain the Construction Phase Plan and associated HSE documentation
Review and approve risk assessments method statements and permits to work
Carry out regular site inspections audits and assurance activities driving corrective actions
Lead incident near-miss and hazard investigations ensuring robust root cause analysis
Deliver toolbox talks briefings and targeted training to site teams and contractors
Monitor HSE performance producing clear reports and metrics for project leadership
Manage inductions contractor onboarding and ongoing compliance on site
What were looking for
Proven experience as a Project HSE Manager or Senior HSE Advisor on live construction sites
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification (CMIOSH desirable)
Experience working on complex fast-paced construction projects
Strong knowledge of UK construction HSE legislation and best practice
Confident communicator able to influence site teams and senior project stakeholders
