(This position does require some statewide travel and occasional overnight stays)
Core Responsibilities:
As a surveyor you will be responsible for conducting licensing surveys for Home and Community Support Service Agencies to ensure that they are in compliance with applicable state licensing rules. You will investigate complaints and facility-generated incident reports alleging non-compliance with State rules. You will determine based on observation document review and interviews whether agencies/programs are in substantial compliance with licensing requirements. You will be responsible for planning coordinating and monitoring licensing activities for your assigned workload. You will work under limited supervision. This position requires statewide travel and occasional overnight stays and an occasional night or weekend survey.
You will also:
Document survey and investigation findings in Statements of Deficiencies in a thorough and timely manner.
Interview complainants and witnesses to obtain information regarding complaint allegations and complete detailed investigation reports.
Review facility-generated Plans of Correction to ensure that these plans address all deficiencies cited.
Provide technical assistance to agencies/providers.
Participate in appropriate training and staff meetings at the request of the supervisor/manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Six (6) years of education and/or professional experience in social services casework social services program development/delivery or social services related fiscal/budget administration/analysis work.
Preferred candidates will also have:
a license in Social Work as issued by the Maine Board of Social Worker Licensure.
experience with home and community support services and agencies;
knowledge of the Maine rules and regulations related to home and community support service agencies and/or:
experience conducting inspections and/or investigations to determine compliance with rules.
