Job Summary

Crescent City Schools is seeking a full-time well-qualified Registered Behavior Technician. Duties include: supporting students with disabilities in the classroom; delivering instruction individually or in small groups; collecting data; supporting students emotional social and behavioral needs; and participating in the life of the school as a significant member of the staff. The Constellations Programs Registered Behavior Technician will be directly supervised by a BCBA and report to the Principal of the Constellations Program.

Our Registered Behavior Technicians impact students lives by:

  • Maintaining the safety and development of the students with disabilities in their care
  • Establishing high expectations for each student and supporting their academic social and emotional development
  • Working closely with the classroom teacher to deliver instruction individually in small groups and to support whole-class instruction for more than 50% of the workday
  • Participating in frequent meetings with parents teachers and school leadership
  • Collaborating with therapists evaluators and teachers to support student development
  • Developing educational materials learning communication techniques and using student devices
  • After CPI training implement de-escalation techniques when working with students as required
  • After training utilizing positive behavioral interventions to support the behavioral needs of students
  • Accurately collecting behavioral and academic data as instructed
  • Participating in the life of the school including student activities and events
  • Tracking student behavioral and academic progress data
  • Completing daily session notes
  • Implementing behavior and treatment plans with fidelity
  • Adhering to the BACB RBT Code of Ethics
  • Attend monthly meetings with BCBA supervisor to maintain RBT requirements
  • Taking on other tasks as needed

  • Have an Associates degree or two years of college and/or are Highly Qualified as a paraprofessional
  • Have demonstrated past success working with children with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Have the desire to be a founding Team member of a special education school or students with significant disabilities
  • Knowledge of social-emotional and behavioral interventions is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) required

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit stand run walk talk hear see kneel crouch operate a computer and other office equipment reach with hands and arms and lift and move up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to participate in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training and when required safely implement approved de-escalation and physical intervention techniques in accordance with student behavior plans organizational policies and training guidelines. Must be able to respond quickly to crisis situations including student elopement or aggressive behaviors to support and maintain student safety
  • This is an in-person role

About The Constellations Program

The Constellations Program is a preK through 4th-grade school setting for students with low-incidence disabilities. At Constellations we prepare students to achieve their highest independent level of functioning. The Constellations Program will support students in meeting their functional skill needs as well as the academic skills aligned to the LEAP Connect. While this program is geared primarily towards students with Autism it is open to other students with limited to no verbal skills intellectual impairments and similar exceptionalities.
