As part of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology Team (AMRT) the CombustionNew Repair Introduction (NRI)Engineer is responsible for engineering ownership of combustion components for repair activities focusing onNew Product Introduction (NPI)andProduct Cost Out (PCO)process and tooling development for F and HA class gas turbines. They will collaborate closely with the AMRT special process development teams in Greenville and Warsaw to deploy technologies for new repairs and upgrade modifications for heavy-duty gas turbine components across the Vernova Gas Turbine Fleet. This role is also responsible for working collaboratively withManufacturingLeadership Gas Turbine Design Engineering and Customer Service Engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop drive and industrialize repair processes and technology for the services network in support of repair strategy with focus on GE Vernova heavy-duty gas turbine combustion repair NPIand PCOprograms
- Drive standard work through lean practices utilizing lean roadmaps value stream mappingandsystem development while supporting process improvement and continuous problem solving.
- Work withCommercialand Customer Service Engineering teams to address fleet issues.
- Maintain a culture of safety integrity compliance and engineering discipline.
- Understand model and communicate the AMRT culture and seek ways to integrate it into the broader GE Vernova culture. Assist in developing an inspirational leadership organization that coaches team members in building trusting relationships
- Lead and inspire the search for high impact engineering projects
- Mentor the early career team through the design analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product requirements
- Collaborate with design engineering and support design reviews for repairs
- Make personal and team learning a priority
- Readily apply learnings from diverse experiences to solve business problems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering Materials Science or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 10 years of Gas Turbine Engineering experience working in with and/or supporting aDesignManufacturing Services or Repair environment
- Minimum of 5 years in Gas Turbine Combustion Design Engineering
- Strong mechanical design and analytical background with familiarity in manufacturing processes
- Travel to repair centers customer sites and other locations as needed globally (10%)
Desired Characteristics
- Masters Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Lean training or equivalent quality training
- Ability and established track record to drive projects to completion
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
