Description
Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSSrelated work Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada by Canadians.
The Intern HR Systems is part of the HR Systems team responsible for implementing new Oracle HCM modules and updating aspects of modules that are already in place. The intern will support the HR Systems & Employee Services team with data analysis data entry and system-related tasks. This position is ideal for an individual who is keen on developing skills in business and system analyses stakeholder communication and project management and implementation. The role involves quickly learning Oracle HCM modules to assist with data conversion activities reporting and documentation.
Note: Due to business needs this position is required to be fully on-site based at 889 Harbourside Drive North Vancouver.
What youll do
  • Provides support in functional areas of Human Resources which may include coordination of tasks operations under supervision and optimizing current practices.
  • Assists in the collection of internal and external information for reports and statistical research a key element being the onboarding process and set up.
  • Preparing and editing correspondence reports and presentations.
  • Processes paperwork for functional area according to established procedures.
  • Work directly with key personnel to understand project concept objectives and approach.
  • Support and deliver a variety of HR tasks and projects.
  • May suggest and assist with the implementation of process improvements and best practices in order to achieve departmental efficiencies and enhance service.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
What youll bring
  • Enrollment in a Human Resources Business Administration or equivalent undergraduate degree program.
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess tact diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task prioritize and problem solve.
  • Sound knowledge of federal and provincial employment legislation.
  • Good judgment and reasoning skills.
  • HRIS knowledge an asset (Taleo JD Edwards Oracle)
  • Attention to detail with good analytical skills.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Monday May 4th 2026.

End Date of Internship: Friday December 18th 2026 (8-Months).
