Join the team that transforms the sports landscape and creates a legacy of excitement engagement and the role: Were searching for a confident experienced leader ready to contribute to the success of one of Melbournes leading sports and event Operations Manager at MSAC plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth daily operations exceptional venue presentation and supporting the delivery of world-class events. Reporting to the Senior Venue Manager you will lead an operational team oversee the delivery of high-profile events and cultivate strong stakeholder relationships while upholding safety risk management and customer service is a highly visible handson leadership role. Youll be present on the floor supporting your team guiding major operations and solving problems in real time. Success in this role comes from influence collaboration and strong relationshipsnot commandandcontrol the Operations Manager at MSAC your primary responsibilities will include:Overseeing daily operations including event setup venue presentation and preparation and risk/safety managementLeading coaching and mentoring a skilled team - including Duty Managers and operational staff to empower high performance service excellence and a valuesdriven cultureManaging day to day stakeholder relationships with hirers sports partners and service providersChampioning a culture of safety by proactively upholding all health safety emergency and risk management standards to ensure every person in the venue feels supported and financial performance through effective budget and expense managementDemonstrating a strong customer focus ensuring every team member patron partner or athlete feels respected supported and valuedA bit about you. You bring:Proven leadership and people management experience in operations preferably in a sporting event or venue environment - where youve inspired teams elevated performance and delivered outstanding skills and qualities of a collaborative leader who listens first asks thoughtful questions and leads through influence support and example not commanding knowledge of health safety and risk management practicesExceptional stakeholder engagement communication and negotiation skillsExperience in planning contractor management workforce development and building strong internal and external relationships that nurture trust and in event planning contractor management and workforce developmentA results-orientation in your leadership with a focus on continuous improvement.A passion for and genuine enjoyment in coaching and developing people and helping others growRequired skills and Qualifications:Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related disciplineCurrent Victorian Working with Childrens Check (Employee)First Aid CPR and Advanced Resuscitation certificationsVictorian Drivers LicenseCurrent Working with Children CheckWhy is this a great place to workYou will love working at the State Sports Centres.
