Rotating weekdays and rotating weekends
Weekday and holiday on-call required
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technician OR General for a contract assignment in a hospital setting. This role assists surgeons and registered nurses during a wide range of surgical procedures while maintaining a safe sterile environment in compliance with hospital policies and AORN standards.
Prepare operating rooms with surgical instruments equipment sterile drapes and solutions
Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
Perform scrub technologist duties across multiple surgical services and specialties
Pass instruments and sterile supplies during surgical procedures
Assist with tissue retraction suture cutting and sponge/needle/instrument counts
Prepare handle and properly dispose of surgical specimens
Assist with patient positioning transport and transfer to recovery
Prepare and label medications under the direction of the surgeon and RN
Operate sterilizers lights suction and diagnostic equipment as needed
Ensure availability of case-specific instrumentation per surgeon preference cards
Assist with OR room turnover and restocking between cases
Participate in orientation staff meetings and educational programs
Maintain patient privacy dignity and safety
Demonstrate professionalism teamwork and commitment to high-quality patient care
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room / Surgical Technologist experience (required)
Orthopedic experience strongly preferred
Graduate of an accredited civilian or military Surgical Technician / OR Technician program
National Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA)
Certification must be from an NCCA-accredited organization recognized by ACS and AST
Newly graduated candidates must obtain certification within 12 months of graduation
Current BLS Certification required
