Job Duties

Chief Objective:
The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a Director to lead a statewide initiative focused on combating organized retail crime including the trafficking of stolen goods related fraud schemes and threats to consumer protection. The Director serves in a pivotal leadership role within the Office of the Attorney Generals Executive Division specifically in the Programs and Outreach Section.

This position is responsible for overseeing the initiatives operational framework and strategically directing resources to support intelligence sharing multi-agency collaboration and the development of systems that disrupt organized retail theft and associated criminal enterprises. The Director plays a critical role in building and expanding capacity to identify trafficking patterns protect consumers from fraud and unsafe goods and strengthen partnerships with law enforcement retailers and other stakeholders. As a strategic leader the Director establishes the foundation for long-term success through effective operational management thoughtful resource allocation and a focused commitment to public safety and consumer protection.

Work Tasks and Duties:
The Director ensures that the programs operational framework is robust and capable of adapting to the evolving landscape of organized retail theft. This involves a strategic evaluation of operational practices to identify and implement improvements that can support the initiatives objectives effectively.
A significant part of the Directors role involves streamlining internal processes and embracing technological advancements to enhance productivity. By identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions the Director aims to improve workflow and operational effectiveness continuously by leading a team of ORC Specialists and ORC Outreach Coordinators.
The Director oversees the development and execution of various engagements. This encompasses organizing press releases coordinating arrest announcements facilitating training sessions and conducting intelligence sharing meetings to strengthen partnerships and enhance the collective response to organized retail theft.
The Directors position is one that demands a strategic vision exceptional leadership qualities and a proactive approach to operational management. Success in this role is measured by the ability to create a dynamic operational environment capable of addressing the challenges of organized retail theft alongside improving internal efficiencies and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing (Microsoft products preferred).

Additional Considerations

A related undergraduate degree; or equivalent experience.
