GCHS is looking for a full time Lab Technician to be part of our lab team.
Summary Performs routine tests in medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing the following duties. Additional duties may be assigned.
- Interprets physicians orders and secures a requisition before performing test
- Obtains the correct amount and type of specimen.
- Draws blood from patients finger heelstick artery or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses of body fluids such as blood and urine with limited supervision
- Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes if qualified by CLIA.
- Completes appropriate routing handling and processing of various medical specimens.
- Performs tests in an accurate and timely manner.
- Informs physicians or appropriate designee of lab results.
- Documents all requests and results of lab work accurately.
- Recognizes abnormalities and notifies physician or designee immediately of critical values.
Candidate must be MLT or ML certified.
This position has a flexible schedule 4-day workweek and includes limited paid on-call rotation.

Compensation: $21.50 per hour
