About the Role
The Australian Research Councils Special Research Initiative Securing Antarcticas Environmental Future (SAEF) is a leading international research program delivering interdisciplinary research to forecast environmental change across the Antarctic region develop effective environmental stewardship strategies and secure Antarctica as a natural reserve devoted to peace and science.
With more than $46M in investment from the ARC and contributing organisations SAEF brings together experts in informatics robotics environmental technologies decision science and Antarctic ecology. Strong partnerships with key Antarctic stakeholders ensure our research directly informs policy and operational decision-making and supports the next generation of environmental leaders.
We are seeking an Associate Research Fellow to contribute to high-quality research within the SAEF program. This role will focus predominantly on using Antarctic mosses as microclimate proxies applying advanced analytical techniques to deepen our understanding of environmental change across the Antarctic landscape.

About You
You will bring a strong foundation in environmental science geochemistry polar ecology or a related field along with demonstrated capability to conduct high-quality independent research. You communicate effectively work collaboratively and are motivated by research with real-world impact.
