Job Summary

Position Summary

The Accountant 1 position will be responsible for managing and overseeing a companys fixed assets ensuring accurate recording and tracking of acquisitions disposals and depreciation. This role involves maintaining fixed asset ledgers performing regular reconciliations and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Accountant 1 will collaborate with various departments to ensure proper capitalization of assets.

Location: Louisville KY Chicago IL or Pittsburgh PA

Essential Responsibilities Accountabilities & Results

  • Maintain accurate records of additions transfers and retirements in the fixed asset register.
  • Ensure proper capitalization of assets and accurate calculation of depreciation (book & tax).
  • Monitor compile and close Construction in Progress (CIP) project costs in asset accounts.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations between the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls.

Competency Requirements

  • Detail-oriented organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with fixed asset accounting and financial reporting is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word Excel Outlook) and possess ability to navigate and use other web-based systems as necessary
  • Possess a positive attitude and establish good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $52236 USD - $60000 USD annually plus bonus eligibility. Ultimately in determining pay we will consider the successful candidates location experience and other job-related factors.
