About the opportunity
As an integral part of the we can do that operation and as the leader of the Finance/Accounting Team this position is responsible to monitor the financial health of the operation. Specifically:
- oversee full accounting cycle process
- reconcile bank statements and maintain procedures for effective cash handling and control
- process deals prepare commissions and bonus reports and assist with processing of payroll
- reconcile and submit all government warranty and insurance remittances
- analyze reconcile accounts and schedules for the monthly and annual closing; identify and correct accounting inaccuracies and imbalances
- assist in preparation of the detailed monthly reports adhering to the dealers instructions and the manufacturers time frame and format
- assist in closing month and year ends
- handle ad hoc reporting requests
- other related duties may be reasonably assigned in order to assure the smooth operation of the dealership
About you
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in managing the finance/accounting operation and department including:
- at least two (3) years of accounting experience with a thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures preferably in a dealership/retail automotive environment
- University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting and/or Finance
- working knowledge of ERA and/or CDK is an asset
- experience working with Microsoft Office specifically Excel
- the ability to work within strict deadlines
- the ability to maintain internal controls
- a strong attention to detail
- excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- a desire to work in a high energy fast-paced environment
- a proven commitment to quality of work
- team player with a positive attitude and ability to multitask
