Job Overview
The Accounting Analyst II Power Accounting supports the monthly accounting activities of the clients Power business. The role includes preparing invoices applying accounts receivable cash posting journal entries maintaining schedules completing account reconciliations and performing related analysis. The position identifies researches and implements improvements to general ledger processes and responds to ad hoc inquiries and analysis requests to support financial reporting requirements. The role requires a high degree of independence and strong time management skills to meet monthly invoicing and month-end close deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue monthly customer invoices and supporting documentation.
- Apply and reconcile accounts receivable cash receipts.
- Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting policies.
- Maintain accounting schedules and supporting workpapers.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Analyze financial information and provide insights as required.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency of general ledger activities.
- Support month-end close activities and reporting timelines.
- Respond to ad hoc financial inquiries and analysis requests from internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce Business or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance-related experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall computer skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with a high level of cooperation and respect.
- Alignment with the clients core values of Integrity Safety and Respect.
- Previous experience with Oracle Cloud Financials Hyperion Financial Management SmartView or Essbase is preferred.
- Progress toward or completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal control principles is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
