Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a local contract opportunity. This role is responsible for the accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with all departmental state and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise with modern radiation therapy equipment and a patient-centered approach to care.
Preferred Experience
Qualifications
Graduation from an AAS or AMAaccredited Radiation Therapy program
Registered Radiation Therapist (RRT) license
New York State license
35 years of related experience preferred
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
Key Responsibilities
Deliver radiation therapy treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions and regulatory guidelines
Operate and maintain high-voltage state-of-the-art radiation therapy equipment while adhering to safety standards
Coordinate and schedule patient treatment appointments
Interpret treatment prescriptions and accurately deliver prescribed radiation doses
Prepare and operate radiotherapy equipment including:
Obtain radiographic images to confirm treatment fields and volumes
Perform pretreatment simulation procedures including:
Take patient photographs for portal verification
Monitor patients for radiation reactions and provide appropriate care and education
Ensure all patient safety measures are followed at all times
Maintain accurate treatment records documentation and port films
Ensure compliance with departmental institutional and regulatory policies
Participate in departmental in-service training and educational programs
Coordinate departmental and inpatient activities to support optimal patient care
