Position Summary

The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating diagnosing and treating speech language communication and swallowing disorders in a school-aged population. This role supports students academic success by addressing communication challenges that impact learning social interaction and classroom participation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students

  • Develop implement and manage individualized treatment plans and IEP goals

  • Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings

  • Collaborate with teachers special education staff administrators and families

  • Participate in IEP meetings eligibility determinations and progress reviews

  • Document evaluations therapy sessions progress notes and reports in accordance with school and regulatory standards

  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

  • Support early intervention articulation fluency voice receptive/expressive language and pragmatic communication needs

  • Provide consultation and strategies to classroom staff to support student success

  • Maintain compliance with federal state and district guidelines

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

Licensure & Certification

  • Active state Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Preferred (or Clinical Fellowship eligibility)

Experience

  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred

  • Experience working with IEPs and multidisciplinary teams preferred
