The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating diagnosing and treating speech language communication and swallowing disorders in a school-aged population. This role supports students academic success by addressing communication challenges that impact learning social interaction and classroom participation.
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students
Develop implement and manage individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings
Collaborate with teachers special education staff administrators and families
Participate in IEP meetings eligibility determinations and progress reviews
Document evaluations therapy sessions progress notes and reports in accordance with school and regulatory standards
Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Support early intervention articulation fluency voice receptive/expressive language and pragmatic communication needs
Provide consultation and strategies to classroom staff to support student success
Maintain compliance with federal state and district guidelines
Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Active state Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Preferred (or Clinical Fellowship eligibility)
School-based or pediatric experience preferred
Experience working with IEPs and multidisciplinary teams preferred
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Effective written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Student-centered culturally responsive approach to care
