Role Definition

Provides advisory analysis and counsel on business projects transactions and technical rules and reviews compliance activities with a focus on the China Value Added Tax (VAT) including export VAT refund.

Responsibilities

Preparing and performing advisory on projects and transactions material China VAT compliance and provision computations utilizing tax technical rules and business facts.

Working closely with internal and external business partners to ensure appropriate information is gathered analyzed and proficiently conveys information on VAT implications.

Monitoring legislative changes and analyzing potential impacts on China VAT obligations.

Researching and evaluating China VAT regulations to document VAT positions optimize enterprise VAT impact and analyze VAT impacts of proposed legislation.

Analyzing developing and reviewing responses to support tax authority inquiries.

Supporting projects related to process improvements implementation of controls or Global Tax initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or above in Accounting Taxation Finance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant tax experience preferably in Big 4 accounting firms or multinational corporations.
  • Solid hands-on experience in China VAT including export VAT refund VAT filing compliance and related tax analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of PRC tax regulations and practical application in a corporate environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting business operations from a tax perspective.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Chinese and English required as working languages; proficient in both spoken and written English with the ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills attention to detail and a high level of integrity and professionalism.

Facilitates resolution of all outstanding items problems and issues with tax authorities.

Evaluates issues and considerations in integrating VAT information across lines of business.

Evaluates pending legislation and its impact on VAT reporting and operations.

Tax Regulations: Knowledge of the China VAT procedures and regulations; ability to adhere to the VAT regulations when filing forms as they pertain to a particular business or industry.

Follows current VAT regulations as they pertain to own industry.

Develops internal policies and procedures regarding the VAT obligations of the organization.

Analyzes VAT liability in several organizational areas.

Clarifies the rationale behind specific VAT rates and regulations.

Research Analysis: Knowledge of concepts methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others.

Level Extensive Experience:

Researches and evaluates materials that are related to a research topic under the guidance of a supervisor.

Reports on validity relevance and accuracy issues.

Implements basic research analysis methods and techniques.

Uses published information to support new research.

Adheres to an organizations research analysis standards.

Additional information

The position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
