Summary of Job Duties:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist Corrections instructors with students completing Career Readiness and WAGE curriculum at Southwest AR Community Corrections.

1. Conduct small group or individual classroom activities based on pre-developed instructor lessons.
2. Assist with supervision of students in the classroom.
3. Maintain and retain supplies and equipment purchased for use in completing classroom responsibilities.
4. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
5. Provide documentation of professional development records as requested by the director.
6. Foster collegiality & teambuilding among staff; participate actively in the decision-making process.
7. Collaborate with the director/staff to recognize student excellence and achievement.
8. Maintain a classroom environment in which learners actively participate and show respect for one another.
9. Use technology to assist students with classroom assignments.
10. Assist with routine classroom record keeping.
11. Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
12. Adhere to all volunteer rules and guidelines set forth by the AR Department of Community Corrections.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated at the end of each fiscal year in accordance with Adult Education and UAHT (University of Arkansas Hope Texarkana) Human Resource policies.
