Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 an hour DOE
Shift: Monday thru Friday 7:00 am 3:30 pm

Responsibilities Include:
- Identify and resolve parts required for repair; review repair orders work order and Body Shop Managers estimate notes; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons.
- Adjust replace and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment ( metal repairs fiberglass/ panel repairs fabrication and structural welding installation and alignment of truck cab body components electrical and mechanical repairs etc.)
- Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills including truck manufacturers repair process
- Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Tear down and inspect for additional or hidden repairs
- Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or supplemental needs or if repairs will not be completed on time
- Lead work of any apprentice technicians and maintain ASE certifications
Qualifications of the Body Shop Technician:
- Welding suspension framework experience a plus OR willing to learn/train
- ASE Certifications; Damage Analysis and Estimating Mechanical and Electrical Components Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair and State Vehicle Inspector (preferred)
- Certifications listed above or equivalent experience and eagerness to improve
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Must complete a background check
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and repairs for all damaged equipment along with fundamental maintenance repairs to tractors and trucks using well-established procedures to restore equipment back to original state.
- Able to perform safe and meaningful welding practices to include aluminum.
- Installs and removes decals as necessary
- Identifies parts and/or systems for repair; repairs or replaces as appropriate such as radiator replacements CAC and Condenser replacements as needed.
- Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts.
- Road tests vehicles to diagnose issues and ensure a safe operating vehicle.
- Raises equipment using hydraulic jacks.
- Inspects repairs and maintains general trailer structural and suspension systems.
- Maintains accurate updated maintenance records.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Truck or Automotive Body shop repair
- Experience in Fiberglass repair to repair vehicles to company standards to include panel repairs straightening and filling when required.
- High school education or GED
- In-depth knowledge of all hand air and power tools required for this industry
- Basic understanding and knowledge of welding and Oxy/Acetylene cutting procedures
- Clean Driving Record
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
